 Forbes: "Independent Flooring Stores Are In Decline" 

Forbes recently reported that independent flooring retailers are declining.  Between 2016 and 2019 the number of independent stores dropped from just over 11,000 down to 10,669.

Meanwhile national chains are ADDING stores. 

  • Floor & Décor:  In 2017 they had just 69 stores.  As of April, 2023 they have 199 stores.
  • Artisan Design Group: Now has over 100 stores. 
  • Lumber Liquidators: 450 locations.
